And they should be tested only by the word of God. As a side note, if the word of God does indeed declare the unction, illumination, and leading of the Spirit-that too is to be tested by the word of God. Those who would dismiss all such moves of God would find themselves at variance with the word. All the more we should know the word and then know the God behind the word. But there is nothing sweeter than to see a child of God guided by God's Spirit through the word.
